“This school is different. Teachers are more “we’re here to help” – it’s like they put up signs! It’s a huge contrast to my previous school.”
ajibola, year 11 student
While the atmosphere in Year 11 is relaxed and informal there is a rigorous and structured system of student support, monitoring and reporting. As well as regular lessons individual help and subject clinics are offered at lunchtimes and after school. Tuition continues during half terms, over the Easter break and in the run up to exams to ensure students are properly prepared for their examinations. Homework is set regularly and recorded in diaries.
Formal reports are issued half termly in Year 11 but there is regular telephone and email contact ensuring that parents are kept closely in touch with all aspects of College life. Our students learn swiftly that non attendance, poor punctuality and lack of homework will be noticed, dealt with immediately, and parents informed by the Office.
“The marking of students’ work is regular and detailed. Individual progress is carefully monitored and teachers give very clear guidance on exactly what students need to do to improve. Written feedback provides sharp, measurable targets.”
