While being primarily a school for locally based UK day students, RIC welcomes a number of international students into its boarding community each year.
Our overseas students are fully integrated into the life of the school rather than in a separate international study centre. We do not have large groups of non native speakers from any one country so speaking English is inescapable.
The College has places for up to 60 boarding students aged 16+. All of RIC’s boarding is on campus and managed by our own team of staff. Some rooms have en suite bathrooms.
Specialist EFL teachers prepare overseas students for IELTS. The average class size in both A level and EFL classes is eight students.
We have particular teaching strengths in Mathematics, Sciences and the Visual Arts but teach 38 A level subjects in total and can timetable most subject combinations.
We are also able to offer specialist GCSE and A level retake courses. We welcome students over the age of 18.

Unlike traditional boarding schools, we teach intensive one year A level and GCSE courses as well as two year programmes. Each year we attract highly motivated overseas students seeking entry to good UK universities, including a number funded through the Royal Thai Government scholarship programme.
We do not offer a university foundation course or access programmes as A levels are the most reliable and respected route for international students to follow to gain places at top tier UK universities.
We have some long standing arrangements with agents but generally international students come to us through positive word of mouth and personal recommendation. We do not exhibit on the international recruitment circuit but our staff regularly travel to meet both agents and the parents of our overseas students.
We offer our agents a professional approach to partnership and a fast turn around of enquiries. We encourage our agents to visit the College before recommending us to students.
As an ISC accredited school RIC is registered with the UK Border Agency as a Highly Trusted Sponsor under the Tier 4 points based system.
International agents wishing to discuss partnership arrangements, or the admission of a particular student, should contact Pauline Bailey or Maeva Elliott in the first instance at admissions@rochester-college.org.
