“I was so impressed with all the classes and teaching I saw and came away with a very positive view of the College, its ethos and aspirations for the students. The priority of teaching and learning was foremost and the students projected such a positive attitude towards their studies”

a great education
RIC’s Lower School combines a friendly and informal approach with the teaching excellence and pastoral support of a top independent school. We offer a happy and lively atmosphere where academic success follows naturally from students being settled in their environment and engaged by enthusiastic and talented teachers. We are small enough to get to know everyone very well but large enough for good friendship groups to be formed. All class sizes are small, the average being 8.
a world of difference
RIC offers the a creative buzz, balanced by the structures and examination focus of a tutorial model of teaching. The expectation is that all will grow in confidence and self esteem, do well academically and have great memories of school life.
a place to learn
The Lower School for students in Years 7-10 is based in New Road House. There is a dedicated refectory in this building along with the school hall, computer rooms, music practice rooms, an art studio and several large form rooms. Lower School students move around the RIC campus to use specialist facilities such as the laboratories and drama studio.

“I would like to take the opportunity to say a very big thank you to RIC for educating my daughter from the age of 11 through to 18. Your school has nurtured and educated her to an extremely high standard. The care and understanding she received from everyone from the catering staff to the Principals was amazing. Thank you so much for helping to create such a beautiful, challenging, witty and intelligent young woman who is now so readily embracing university.”
