Year 7 taster days
Join us for our fun and educational days.
RIC is delighted to offer Year 5 and 6 students, who are considering entry into Year 7 at Rochester Independent College the opportunity to attend our Taster Days on the following Wednesdays in the spring term.
Wednesday 8 February and Wednesday 8 March from 9.30am until 3pm.
Students will experience a typical day in our small school setting, attending a mixture of academic and creative ‘Bitesize’ lessons as well as staying for a home cooked lunch. We hope that this experience will give prospective students a useful insight into what it is like to be a student at RIC.
Parents are very welcome to stay for a coffee and an informal chat with the Head of the Lower School, Kelly Flatman, and have a tour of the school campus.
Please call 01634 828115 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information or to book a place.
“I started studying at RIC in year 7 in 2008 as a shy, introverted child that did not have confidence or faith in themselves and their ability to learn. When I left in 2015 after my A2 exams I was a gentleman, confident in my abilities, outgoing and inspired. I owe this to the outstanding team at RIC. They gave me the skills I needed to progress in my own studies and undertake undergraduate learning. Small class sizes gave me the opportunity to develop communication skills, giving me skills that are vital in both university study and general life. Wearing my own clothes and having artistic subjects as a key part to the curriculum from years 7 to 10 gave me an opportunity to express myself and to expand my ways of thinking. The most important factor behind RIC is having teachers that are passionate about their subjects and inspire students to learn and develop themselves. The teachers recognise you as an individual, teaching students to be non judgmental and respectful of each other. Choosing to go to RIC was one of the best decisions of my life.” Oliver Page
“We never contemplated private education until we heard about RIC, then we were shown around & it has worked out very well for Lizzie. She’s really flourished at RIC, & that’s due to the ability & dedication of the teachers, as well as her own hard work.” John and Helen Bradshaw
“We were absolutely delighted with the results Edward got today for his A levels. They were better than we ever dared hope for and such an achievement. We know that a lot of this is down to you and all your staff who over seven years have given so much of your time and expertise to guide him on his way. To receive a confirmed offer from KCL this morning was wonderful. It was a huge leap of faith moving him at the age of 11 but the best thing we could have done for him. He has been so happy since joining you and you have given him so much in addition to purely academic knowledge. ” Sarah Smyth
“I would like to take the opportunity to say a very big thank you to RIC for educating my daughter from the age of 11 through to 18. Your school has nurtured and educated her to an extremely high standard. The care and understanding she received from everyone from the catering staff to the Principals was amazing. Thank you so much for helping to create such a beautiful, challenging, witty and intelligent young woman who is now so readily embracing university.” Marion Nolan
